I have loved you with an everlasting love.
I love this scripture because it speaks to God’s never ending love for us. Take a moment to read this, repeat it and let it sink in.
“This is what the Lord says: “The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.” The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.” Jeremiah 31:2-4 NIV
The Lord spoke to Jeremiah saying those who conquered found favor while in exile and would be given rest. They were then reminded of words that God had previously spoken to them of His love and faithfulness towards them. That HE would build them. Amazing isn’t it? That it is the love of our Heavenly Father that leads us to rest. He reminds us of His faithfulness during difficult times. As we’re searching for rest, it is God that is drawing us to that place of rest. He will build us as we rest in Him. So I say today, rest. Rest and lean into the love of Jesus our Savior as He draws you to His heart. While loving Him, He does a work in us. He rebuilds.
